Safe Application of Pesticides Using Hand Held Equipment (PA6)

Awarding Body: City & Guilds NPTC Level 2

Target audience: Farmers, Sprayer operatives, Anyone who works in or wants to work in commercial pesticide application

Description: 

This qualification provides training in the use of the hand held sprayer. The course looks at how to prepare your equipment, the maintenance of it and its safe operation and calibration. The training is ideal for farmers and sprayer operatives.

Course sessions:

§  Legislative and safety requirements relating to applicator use

§  Assessment of the environmental factors relating to the mixing and application

§  Reading and interpreting product information

§  Preparation and calibration of the applicator

§  Operation of the application equipment

§  Post-operational procedures

Duration: 1 day course plus 2 hour assessment on a different day

Equipment Required:

§  Spray suit and gloves

§  Work clothes

§  Wellies

§  Lunch

Prerequisites: Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1)
