Farmers, Sprayer operatives. Anyone who works in or wants to work in commercial pesticide application
Description:
This qualification is designed specifically for those who wish to use either a pelleted or granular applicator (slugs) which can be mounted or trailed as part of their daily role. The course looks at how to prepare your equipment, the maintenance of it and its safe operation and calibration. The training is ideal for farmers and sprayer operatives.
Course sessions:
§ Legislative and safety requirements relating to the application of granular/pelleted pesticides
§ Assessment of the environmental factors relating to the application site
§ Reading and interpreting product information
§ Preparation and calibration of the application equipment
§ Operation of the application equipment
§ Post-operational procedures
Duration: 1 day course plus 2 hour assessment on a different day
Equipment Required:
§ Spray suit and gloves
§ Work clothes
§ Wellies
§ Lunch
Prerequisites: Safe Use of Pesticides (PA1)
